Photo Exhibition at Opu House, Nicosia, Cyprus, October through January 24/25

Exploring surveillance, the evolving nature of the internet as a form of reciprocal identity formation, and the changes occurring within individuals as a result. The exhibition is supported by audio recordings of interviews with photographer Kai Fusayoshi, who has documented resistance culture in Japan against the United States and its operations in Vietnam. He now runs a bar in Kyoto, where he observes the shifting nature of drink-induced conversations.

This exploration was directly inspired by living in Japan for eight months. In a highly globalised, predominantly late-capitalist context, many aspects of our existence are increasingly similar; however, the cultural nuances of Japanese society vividly illustrate the post-Foucauldian moment we currently inhabit.
